Socially Responsible Investing, or SRI, is investing with a purpose. Traditional investing is exclusively concerned with whether or not a stock, bond, or mutual fund is expected to meet the financial needs of the owner.
SRI strategies take into consideration the personal values, beliefs, and passions of the investor, and then place the investor’s assets into investments that align with those values. Common themes addressed with SRI strategies include:

Investing in companies that promote social justice, equality, and diversity and provide benefits beyond profits for shareholders.
Governance
Investing in companies with a history of sound business decisions regarding issues such as executive compensation, board of director composition, and shareholder transparency and advocacy.
